Traxxas Goes Small-scale Monster Truckin’ with the TRX-4MT

It seems like it’s only a matter of time until an R/C manufacturer tries their hand at small-scale monster trucks. Carisma and FMS offer their own 1/24-scale big-wheelers and now Traxxas is joining the party with its TRX-4MT.

With massive 3.1″ Terra Groove tires, a lifted body, and a hood-mounted blower, the TRX-4M certainly looks the part of a monster truck. But this model is more than a lifted version of the TRX-4M.

Traxxas has given the TRX-4MT a flat-rail chassis design that lowers the motor and transmission for an improved center of gravity. In addition to this change, the TRX-4MT features eight oil-filled shocks for improved dampening performance and also sports a metal gear servo for improved turning performance.

Like its TRX-4M cousins, the TRX-4MT has an ABS plastic body with a sprinkling of chrome accents and details. The clipless body mounting system allows for easy access to the truck’s internals and makes swapping bodies a breeze.

Traxxas has made two body styles available: a Chevrolet K10 and a Ford F-150, each with its own specific bumper style.
