It's rig review time...at least a mini-rig review. While I haven't done many upgrades on my gold Redcat Ascent-18 Brushless Scout II, I wanted to share the small updates that I have made (so far). This was the first Brushless Ascent-18 Scout II that I added to my RC garage, and I recently added a […]
If you've had your eyes on one of Redcat's brushed Ascent-18 models, this might be the best time to pick one up. During their Extended Black Friday Sale, you can save 20% or more on the original, brushed Ascent-18 and the brushed Ascent-18 Scout II. I'm a huge fan of both of these 1/18-scale crawlers, […]
It's rig review time! I've added a few brushed Redcat Ascent-18 Scout IIs to my RC collection, and, of course, I couldn't leave them stock. While they're great vehicles out of the box, I love putting my own spin on each of these machines, making them ready to head out on their next adventure. When […]
Just before Redcat released its brushless version of the Ascent-18 Scout II, Furitek announced its compact 2-in-1 Mini Komodo Unity Brushless Motor/ESC. The idea of a motor and ESC combo with an incredibly small footprint seemed too good to be true, and I had to see if this package lived up to the hype it […]
Redcat's Ascent-18 lineup continues to grow with the addition of the Ascent-18 Scout II Brushless Edition. I've been a fan of the brushed Ascnet-18 models, and this new, brushless version has won me over as well. With its smooth performance and improved turning radius, this tiny truck is a great runner for both indoor and […]
I can't deny it, I'm a sucker for a good-looking International Scout R/C rig. When the appearance is backed up by performance, then that's just icing on the cake. So, when Redcat introduced a brushless version of the Ascent-18 International Scout II, that just put the cherry on top of an already irresistible sundae. Already […]
Redcat's Ascent-18 Scout II is one fun machine. Right out of the box, you can take this tiny truck out on the trail or putter around your living room, and you're sure to have a blast. It's so much fun, in fact, that I decided to buy a second Ascent-18 Scout II after playing around […]
Redcat has quickly transformed its 1/18-scale Ascent-18 from a single model into a promising platform. With their newest model, the Ascent-18 Scout II, they're hitting the trail with a scale-looking rig with proven performance perks. I've been exploring the ins and outs of this new rig (and having a blast doing it). If you're considering […]
The Redcat Ascent-18 Scout II is here, and it's a fun little small-scale rig. Based on the Ascent-18, this new 1/18-scale trail truck features a decently detailed International Scout II body, pre-installed LED headlights and taillights, chrome wheels, and scaled-down Interco Super Swamper tires. Redcat sent me one of these new rigs to take a […]
If you've had your eye on a new small-scale R/C crawler, you're in luck. There are plenty of great models and platforms available to jump into, letting you hit the ground with a stock machine that offers plenty of room to grow. One of the newer models (and platforms) is Redcat's Ascent-18. Starting out with […]
