Losi 1/12 Grom IMSA Chevrolet Corvette GT3 Racer
Who's ready to tear up the road and track with Losi's latest 1/12-scale on-road racer? Getting more mileage out of the on-road Grom/NASCAR RC Car platform, Losi has introduced its latest motorsports creation, the Grom IMSA Chevrolet Corvette GT3. If NASCAR isn't your favorite form of motorsport, then perhaps you're a fan of the road course racing excitement found in the IMSA series.
This wonderfully detailed race car faithfully captures the aggressive design of the 1:1 #3 Corvette GT3, with molded polycarbonate and injection-molded details like side mirrors, dive planes, and a large rear wing.
Losi's IMSA race car features a clipless body-mounting system like the one found on the Losi Asphalt Late Model and the Jeff Gordon and Jimmie Johnson Monte Carlos. This keeps the exterior clean and ultra-realistic, and it makes accessing the chassis as simple as pressing a button.
Under the body, you'll find a chassis layout that's very similar to what's used on the Losi NASCAR RC Cars, with a few small adjustments. The front splitter and rear diffuser have been redesigned to mimic the parts found on the IMSA Corvette GT3, and the battery connector now plugs into a port on the chassis, helping keep things clean and orderly.
Another small change is found in the battery mounting system. Instead of using a Velcro/hook and loop strap, the battery is secured by a friction-fit tab system.
Powered by a brushed 380-size, 28T motor, this all-wheel-drive R/C car can reach speeds of over 20 miles per hour right out of the box. Based on my experience with the Losi NASCAR models, this is one quick car that should look great both at speed and standing still.
