HPI Stage-D24 1/24 Toyota Supra RC Drift Car
R/C drifting is something that I've dabbled with on the 1/10-scale side of the hobby, but I haven't gotten it to "click" yet. While that's a nice reminder for me to take my Redcat RDS out for a spin soon, it's also a nudge to try something new.
Speaking of new, HPI has been dropping some hot new drift releases, including the 1/24-scale Stage-D24 Toyota Supra. This small-scale drift car may be small, but it looks like an amazing performer, let alone a stunning replica of Toyota's modern-day sports car.
Featuring a detailed ABS hard body shell, the Stage-D24 has scale details locked down. With molded grille inlets, functioning headlights and taillights, side mirrors, and clear windows, this drifting car looks amazing whether in action or at rest.
The Stage-D24 is available in two color options: Metallic Dawn Blue or Prominence Red. HPI also includes a decal sheet to let you customize your R/C drift car however you feel like.
The chassis of the Stage-D24 has quite a bit going for it as well. Powered by a 37-turn brushed motor, this car offers plenty of power for its size, reaching the rear wheels through a 3-gear transmission.
While the chassis may be made of nylon, there are several aluminum components throughout the Stage-D24's inner layout, with several of them offering adjustability and tuning opportunities such as track width and wheelbase.
This car is capable of achieving 67.5 degrees of steering angle right out of the box, which seems like an impressive amount for such a small model.
Other highlights of this model include a ESC/receiver/gyro combo, a 2.4Ghz radio system, and a 7.4V 2S LiPo battery.
