Big Basher Energy (in a Small Package): Traxxas Unleashes the Mini Maxx

By: Tim Gluth

Traxxas is no stranger to small-scale R/C machines. Whether it's the trail-ready TRX-4M or legacy go-fast models like the 1/16 Slash, 1/16 Summit, or LaTrax offerings, Traxxas knows how to have fun at any scale. Their latest offering is an extension of its Maxx lineup with the Mini Maxx.

While X-Maxx (1/6) and Maxx (1/10) are on the larger end of the R/C scale spectrum, the Mini Maxx is positioned as a small-scale model with the heart and soul of something much larger inside of it. Literally.

Traxxas has given the Mini Maxx solid performance specs that should please those who want top performance from their small-scale basher. Powered by a BL-2S 3300 brushless power system, the Mini Maxx is capable of speeds in excess of 30mph, making it stand apart from other similarly-sized models.

Other highlights of the Mini Maxx include a clipless body mounting system for easy access to the chassis and electronics, a deep and durable chassis that features a modular design for easy disassembly and maintenance, 4" Sledgehammer tires that should offer solid traction performance on a variety of terrain types, and much more.

This ready-to-run (RTR) model also includes a 2S LiPo battery and charger, giving you everything you'll need to bash, right out of the box.
