Axial SCX30 Jeep CJ-7
After the release of the SCX30 Toyota Tacoma TRD Pro a few weeks ago, I figured that was it for new SCX30 releases in 2026. Boy, was I wrong. Axial dropped a surprise on micro crawler fans with the release of the SCX30 Jeep CJ-7, an amazingly detailed trail runner and rock crawler.
As they've done with the SCX30 Toyota Tacoma, Axial is offering the SCX30 Jeep CJ-7 in two versions. The first is a near-stock-looking model that's perfect for cruising on the trails. Highlights include a detailed body with side-view mirrors, tube-style bumpers, a removable hardtop, and a detailed interior.
This version of the SCX30 Jeep CJ-7 is available in either a green body color (with black accents) or a limited-edition yellow (with chrome accents), which is only available through Horizon Hobby.
If you prefer to have your micro crawler set up to conquer obstacles and elevation changes, Axial's red SCX30 CJ-7 is right for you. Modeled after the SCX10 III Jeep Renegade CJ-7, this model features larger tires and body modifications such as removed fenders and an open-cage rear that make it perfect for taming tricky lines.
Under the bodies of both of these models is the foundation of the SCX30, though slightly modified to fit this body style. Not only is the wheelbase shorter than the original SCX30 Jeep Wrangler and Ford Bronco, but the entire chassis is shorter and designed specifically for the 1/30-scale Jeep CJ-7 body.
