WPL C24 1/16-scale R/C Trail Truck

By: Tim Gluth

From what I've seen, the hottest small-scale R/C models of 2018 aren't from any of the mainstream hobby brands. No, the maker of some of the most sought-after machines is WPL, a brand that you'll find on sites such as GearBest, Banggood, and GeekBuying.com.

Following up the success of models such as the C14 "Hercules" trail truck, and the B-1 and B-24 military trucks, WPL has released a new model in their 1/16-scale lineup. The C24 features the same cab design as the C14, but rather than an open, flatbed, you'll find this truck features a standard pickup truck bed and optional cap. While it's a small visual difference, it's one that the radio-controlled scaler community has been interested in for quite a while.

Available in both kit and ready-to-run (RTR) configurations, the C24 utilizes the same electronics setup as found in other WPL models. While this truck isn't quite a hobby-grade machine, you can get it close to one with a few internal modifications (such as an ESC, steering servo, and battery upgrade).

Where to buy the WPL C24 1/16-scale R/C Trail Truck:

Depending on where you look, you'll find this truck between $40 and $50 dollars. If you're looking for a fun project machine that you can take on camping and hiking trips, then this model might be worth checking out.
