FTX Rolls Out the 1/24-scale Outback Mini Crawler
If you've been hoping for more small-scale R/C crawlers and trail rigs, your wishes have been answered. Not only do you have options from Pro-Line, and ECX, but now FTX has announced their own 1/24-scale radio-controlled trail truck, the Outback Mini Crawler.
On the surface, this model sports a semi-retro pickup truck-style body and includes accents such as a bed-mounted roll bar and baja lights. Adding to the realistic appearance are front-bumper mounted LED lights. The body itself is mounted using traditional body posts/pins.
When you look beneath the skin of this truck, you'll soon discover that it shares a lot of DNA with the ECX Barrage 1/24 Scaler.
As with the Barrage, the Outback Mini features a ladder-frame chassis and four-link suspension design. Spring-equipped, friction shocks help dampen rough impacts and help stabilize the tiny frame of this truck as it navigates terrain.
