If you’re a fan of small-scale R/C machines, you’ve probably noticed the recent boom in 1/24-scale monster trucks. From chassis conversion kits for the SCX24 to purpose-built models, these tiny trucks are enjoying their day in the sun.
FMS has jumped on the small-scale monster truck bandwagon with the release of its FCX24 Max Smasher. This ready-to-run (RTR) model certainly looks the part of a classic monster truck with its big, beefy tires, chrome wheels, and old-school pickup truck body.
The FCX24 Max Smasher is heavily based on the R/C crawler version of the FCX24, including portal axles, four-link suspension, and two-speed transmission. The Max Smasher variant offers monster truck-inspired wheels and tires and an ABS plastic “hard body” that’s available in either metallic blue or white.
The body can easily be removed through a “clipless” mounting design, allowing for easy access to the chassis. At the heart of this truck is a 130-size brushed motor, which offers plenty of torque in low gear and is able to mimic the same performance of a 1:1 monster truck in high gear.
The body arrives without any decals applied, but water-slide decals are included, so you can customize your rig to suit your style.
