Basher’s HellSeeker 1/16 4WD Mini Monster Truck (V2)

By: Tim Gluth

Bring a bash-worthy radio-controlled truck on the road with you.

Summer travel plans, camping, vacations, and other getaways are great opportunities to relax and unwind. They can also cause some trouble if your list of packing “essentials” doesn’t leave much room for a radio-controlled vehicle or two. Thankfully, R/C cars and trucks come in all shapes, sizes and scales, allowing you to take the fun with you, no matter where you go. Basher has just released a new, 1/16-scale monster truck that’s sure to have you making room on your packing list.

The HellSeeker Mini Monster Truck (V2) is a second-generation model, following in the tire-tracks of another fun, budget-friendly machine. This new model is available in three levels of completion. For those that want to open the box and start driving, a ready-to-run (RTR) option is available, along with an almost-ready-to-run (ARTR), as well as a kit, for those that want the thrill of building their own beast from the ground up.

What makes the three package levels different varies, with the ready-to-run option giving you everything you need, all in one box (save for a battery charger, transmitter batteries, and a battery pack for the truck). The ARTR option requires a few more components to be complete, specifically a 2.4GHz radio system, battery charger, and batteries (for the transmitter and the truck).  If you really want to customize the major internal elements of your radio-controlled vehicle, the kit option leaves the most room for personalization. To complete, you will need to provide a motor, electronic speed control (ESC), steering servo, 2.4GHz radio system, battery charger, and batteries (again, for the transmitter and the truck). To give you the best overall picture of what this new mini monster truck has to offer, I’ll focus on the RTR package.

While small-scale R/C vehicles may lack the impressive size of their larger-scale cousins, they’re still capable of packing an impressive punch when it comes to power and performance. The RTR version HellSeeker Mini Monster Truck Includes a brushless 2800KV motor, LiPo-capable ESC, high torque metal gear steering servo, and a full-time four-wheel drive system. All of this is controlled by a 2.4GHz radio system. The major electronic components are all water resistant, allowing you to breath a little easier when your fun run brings you to some wet or muddy conditions. The most-complete of the three packages, the RTR option will have you out of the box and on the pavement in no-time.
