Axial SCX24 Toyota 4Runner 4x4 RTR
Axial has added another model to its growing SCX24 lineup: the SCX24 Toyota 4Runner 4x4 RTR. This 1/24-scale model blends several scale details with a tried-and-true micro crawler platform to give fans of Toyota off-roaders something to lust over.
Starting with its exterior, the SCX24 Toyota 4Runner 4x4 features an ABS hard body, designed by Pro-Line, as well as an array of body details, including side mirrors and front and rear bumpers. One thing this model lacks, compared to other recent SCX24 releases, is a roof rack. One has to wonder if that was omitted to aid in crawling performance and to keep the center of gravity as low as possible.
The body mounting system utilizes the same rear-hinge system found on previous SCX24 models, but differs in that the front of the body connects to the chassis via a clip rather than Velcro or traditional body posts.
Other visual highlights of this model include LED headlights and fog lights which will let you continue your R/C adventures long after the sun goes down. Two body colors are available to choose from (gray and orange), so you can pick the one that best fits your style.
Under the detailed hardbody, the SCX24 Toyota 4Runner features a ladder frame chassis with metal chassis rails, oil-filled shocks, and Pro-Line Toyo Open Country R/T Trail tires.
This looks like a nice addition to the SCX24 lineup and one that's sure to spark an additional round of body accessories and upgrades, transforming the 4Runner body into an overlander or comp-style crawler.
