A Go-anywhere Explorer: Axial's SCX24 Deadbolt
Man, do I love small-scale R/C crawlers. Whether it's Pro-Line's Ambush 4x4, Carisma Scale Adventure's MSA-1E, or the ECX Barrage 1/24, the fact that I can get the thrill of radio-controlled trail driving anywhere, anytime is...huge. Now there's a new option for 1/24-scale R/C crawling; the Axial SCX24 Deadbolt.
That's right, the mad geniuses at Axial took their ruggedly-styled, ultra-popular SCX10 Deadbolt and shrunk it down for indoor and outdoor adventurists. Featuring the same body design and style as the larger-scale model, the SCX24 looks like it can take on the gnarliest of trails. At first glance, the chassis and internal components look like they're up for the task as well.
Using a ladder-frame chassis design, the Axial SCX24 Deadbolt features four-link suspension, four-wheel drive, and licensed Nitto Trail Grappler M/T tires for taking on the trail.
Powered by a brushed, 180-size motor and a 7.4V LiPo battery, the SCX24 Deadbolt should have plenty of power for whatever adventure you choose to embark on.
Two body colors are available (olive green and red) so running multiple rigs at the same time (and knowing who's who) is an easy task.
